SO WHY SHOULD YOU RECYCLE OIL? HOW DOES THAT HELP?

The simple answer is that it has the two-fold purpose of being able to maximize a resource while at the same time ensuring that we minimize the effect of harmful waste products on our environment. When you recycle oil, you keep it from contaminating our water sources. If you don't, it's very likely that it will seep into streams, rivers, lakes, and water treatment systems by virtue of improper waste management. Sadly, this happens more often than you know. If you really think about it, the act of recycling oil is beneficial to us both directly and indirectly. When you recycle oil, you not only keep essential aquatic ecosystems alive – they are still natural food resources, after all – you also make sure that the water that you are drinking is properly treated and is not in any way harmful to you. WHERE SHOULD YOU START?

You can start to recycle oil by taking your used motor oil – commonly used on vehicles (such as trucks, cars, boats, and motorbikes) and other practical devices (such as lawnmowers). Collecting used oil involves in a container that is not prone to leaking – used milk bottles are considered serviceable – and storing it away until they are completely filled. After this, you are expected to deliver the used oil to a number of service stations that are known to recycle oil. What they will then do with the oil that you have used is to reprocess the carbon material in such a way that they can now be used for other things. If you're still not sure which service stations in your home area accept used oil, take some time to do some research. Ask your local government for information on where to drop off the used oil, and what procedures you should keep in mind when saving up used oil for them. You don't have to worry. It won't cost you a thing to give service stations the used motor oil. Ultimately, it will benefit you.
